Born in Chile in 1988. Studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires, there, she expanded her passion for photography to the audiovisual field and began to train as a Cinematographer.
She has worked on short films, documentary series, documentaries and feature films. Intuition and space to experiment are key elements in her way of working.
Francisca’s work has been screened at important film festivals around the world ( including Berlinale, Cannes, IDFA, BFI, Mar del Plata). She won the Costa Rican National Culture Award in 2018, for her cinematography of “Selva”, which also won two awards at the ADF-Lumiton Film Photography Festival in Argentina. Her first feature film as cinematographer, “Ceniza Negra”, premiered at La Semaine de la critique in Cannes 2019.
In 2020 she completed a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Creation and Contemporary Practice at LAV Madrid. She has been selected to participate in the 2021 Berlinale Talents program of the Berlin International Film Festival.
Currently lives between Germany and Chile.
