Maite Astiz is a spanish DOP based between Barcelona and Madrid. Graduated on Director of Photography in Escac (Univesity of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia).
Her professional focus has been on developing her career within the field of advertising. She has worked with national and international film production companies on projects for companies like Adidas, Samsung, Durex, Vodafone Seat, etc. Her first fiction feature film “Blue Rai” won the silver “Biznaga Public Award” in Malaga film Festival in 2017.
Maite has also been given numerous awards for her short films, fashion films and music videos. “Habitar” which was selected by the Short Film Corner, Cannes Film Festival 2015 and awarded best cinematography at the Festival de Astorga 2015; her short film, “Spectrum of Love” also won the bronze prize at the Laus ADG-FAD 2017 Festival and was shortlisted for the VOTD Awards; “Gloomy Planets” was given the VOTD Award in 2018 and also at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2018.
Maite is a true multidisciplinary professional and with works with great sensitivity and a keen eye for aesthetics. She continues her upward career as a photography director all the while combining her advertising work with fiction.
