Sara Gallego (Castellón, 1991) is based in Madrid. She has a degree in Audiovisual Communications and graduated from her master’s degree in Cinematography from the School of Cinematography and Audiovisuals of Madrid (ECAM) in 2016. Co-founder of SALEM.
She soon began working as a focus puller, which allowed her to quickly gain filming experience, while she started shooting her first projects as a cinematographer. In 2018 Sara shot her first documentary film “The year of the Discovery” directed by Luis López Carrasco wich premiered in the official selection of the Rotterdam Film Festival. Her latest feature films are Killing Crabs (Tourmalet Films) and Counting Sheep (Aquí y Allí Films). Currently she shoots fiction, advertising, documentaries and videoclips.
Sara believes in the emotional and arousing power of images; the image as a key medium of human communication. Her intention is to share sensations
through photography as a way to get to know ourselves and our surroundings better.
